Rally sprint
Rallysprint is one of the basic national sports of car racing, and it offers a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of a rally on shorter tracks.
During the season, about 30 rally sprint competitions are organized in different parts of Finland, and they are run on versatile surfaces: snow, gravel and asphalt.
Rally sprint – short and intense tracks
Rally sprint tracks are very similar to rally special stages, but their length is shorter, usually 2000–5000 meters. This makes the sport fast-paced and very exciting for both drivers and spectators.
The race proceeds in such a way that the driver drives the same route two or three times, and his/her best time is the final result.
In some races, lap times are added up, and the winner is the driver with the lowest combined time.
Versatile classes and competition equipment
Rallisprint’s SM series comprises six competitions, which are contested on different platforms: snow, asphalt and gravel.
More detailed information about these competitions can be found on the series’ own website.
In addition, the very popular Aurora Sprint Asphalt rally sprint series focuses purely on races driven on asphalt tracks, offering tight and fast-paced challenges to asphalt drivers.
SM series and asphalt rally print
In the rally sprint, drivers are divided into junior and general category drivers based on experience and skill.
In addition, there is a youth class. In some classes, which use cars according to the rally rules, a co-driver and notes can also be used.
The competition equipment varies from top-level new rally cars and powerful turbo cars to older and more affordable vehicles for enthusiasts.
